Highlands cottages at Bunloit
Both of our Bunloit cottages sit on the western shore of Loch Ness in Inverness-shire, with panoramic views across the loch. Watched over by Meall Fuar-Mhonaidh, there is nowhere better to enjoy the beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
Keep an eye out for a fantastic array of wildlife, from red squirrels and pine martins to crested tits, crossbills, barn and tawney owls, golden eagles and even the elusive and shy wild boar!

Wester Bunloit

This former croft house sits 600 feet above Loch Ness, with unrivalled views across the loch and fantastic walks around the North and South of the Bunloit estate. The cottage has a spacious kitchen and dining area, its own private garden and outdoor furniture - perfect for lunch with a view. With a charmingly furnished interior, a light and bright sitting room with double windows and a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings by the fire.

Wester Bunloit has two large bedrooms - one double and one triple - both with breathtaking views over Loch Ness.

Wester Bunloit runs on electricity from a wind turbine nearby, so you can enjoy your stay with a lower carbon footprint.

Despite the wild feel of Bunloit Estates, the village of Drumnadrochit is just under 4 miles away and the city of Inverness, bustling with museums, cathedrals and restaurants, is easily accessible via the Lochside road, just 19.5 miles away.
Drumnadrochit offers a good selection of local shops, cafés, restaurants and bars. With Loch Ness right beside you, you can indulge in a variety of water activities, from leisurely walks along the shore to kayaking expeditions. Nearby attractions include Urquhart Castle and Fort Augustus. If you’re looking to spot the Loch Ness Monster there are multiple boat tour options to explore.
For a more active holiday, you could start with the local hill, Meall Fuar-Mhonaidh. The base car park is just 4 miles away, and the hill offers a good path which is dog-friendly.
Not far away, Abriachan Forest Trails offer walking and mountain biking galore. If you’re seeking something more extreme, many mountains are easily accessed on a day trip.
Bunloit Farmhouse

A beautiful detached cottage with spectacular views across the length of Loch Ness, and across to the mountains on the far side from its private garden and south-facing front windows. With outdoor garden furniture for picnic lunches outside, and two woodburning stoves in both the sitting room and dining area, this cottage is ideal for holidays the full year-round.

Tayvallich’s three holiday cottages sit within the 1370 hectare estate looking out over stunning Linne Mhurich, a sea inlet of Loch Sween.

Kates Cottage

This sweet, fully refurbished cottage is the perfect getaway for two. Set in a scattering of houses in Coshandrochaid hamlet, just 4 miles away from Tayvallich, with views out over Linne Mhuirich to Loch Sween beyond. A wood burning stove in the open plan kitchen, dining and seating areas keeps the whole cottage toasty warm.

Kate’s cottage has one light and airy spacious double bedroom with an en suite bathroom, with the choice of a relaxing bath or shower.

The village of Tayvallich is home to a local shop and café, as well as the Tayvallich Inn offering fresh locally sourced food, and a beautiful view over Tayvallich Bay; a bit further afield the coastal village of Crinan offers fine dining at the Crinan Hotel and walks along the historic Crinan canal.

Coshandrochaid Cottage

A traditional detached cottage 4 miles away from Tayvallich, with spectacular views out over Linne Mhuirich to Loch Sween beyond. Stay toasty warm with wood-burning stoves in both the sitting room and the charming conservatory. Dine in with a view, making the most of the well-equipped kitchen. A separate utility/boot room is ideal for storing muddy boots and drying off wet coats or wetsuits.

The ground floor contains both a family bathroom and a double bedroom, while upstairs contains two further bedrooms (a double and a twin) with roof windows, alongside a shower room.

Keepers Cottage, Tayvallich

This delightful cottage combines the best of modern and traditional features, with an open-plan living room/kitchen diner opening with full-width bifold doors to the deck and fabulous views towards Loch Sween and beyond. With cosy underfloor heating throughout and a fully equipped modern kitchen and utility room, it’s the perfect getaway spot for couples or families.
Reached by a private drive, Keepers Cottage is a cosy yet spacious two-bedroom cottage with its own entrance. A ramp into the back hall leads into this single-storey house where the layout is simple, but its appearance is dazzling.
A utility room with a washing machine offers plenty of storage space, and, leading from the main hall, is the hugely welcoming open plan living, dining and kitchen area. With a trendy, laid-back style, masses of light, and incredible views out over Linne Mhuirich and beyond, it is the heart of this pretty cottage.
Outside, the garden is unenclosed and is separated from the neighbouring Kates Cottage by a beech hedge, which provides a real sense of peace and quiet. The private decking area, with seating, is the perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy this incredible south-western Highlands location.

The end of the hall comprises two spacious double bedrooms – one king size and one double – although twin beds in the latter are also an option. Each immaculate room offers the calm and comfort required for a good night’s sleep, and next door there is a light and airy shower room.

A rural cottage at Beldorney
Enjoy the peaceful surrounds of Beldorney Estate near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, with rural walks from your doorstep along the River Deveron and into the surrounding hills. Beldorney is a breath of fresh air, and the perfect place to rest and relax in the heart of our rewilding and regenerative agriculture project.

Keepers Cottage, Beldorney

Keepers is a traditional estate cottage with a large garden, in the heart of the Beldorney rewilding project. A great base for family or friends to relax and enjoy rural Aberdeenshire at any time of year. Enjoy local walks and activities and return to cosy evenings by the fire.

With two double rooms and one single room, this cottage is ideal for groups of friends or family getaways. Alongside a spacious and fully equipped kitchen and dining area, Keepers has a cosy living room with a wood-burning stove to keep you warm all year round. Keepers also has a separate utility room, ideal for drying muddy boots after long walks.

Beldorney is a great spot for wildlife watching, from curlews and hen harriers to roe deer and red squirrels. Get in touch if you would like to book a guided tour of Beldorney estate and learn about the science behind nature restoration on the estate.
Beldorney is also home to ‘the wee mob’, a herd of small native cattle, which are mob grazed all year around to help enhance the species-rich grassland on the estate.

As well as the many wildlife spotting opportunities at Beldorney, other activities in the area include angling along the River Devoran, which flows through the estate, or visiting the falconry centre at Huntly. The romantic ruins of Huntly Castle conjure up the spirit of the Gordon Clan, one of mediaeval Scotland’s most powerful families; it is just one of the many ancient monuments and standing stones in the region.
The area is also rich in whisky distilleries, including the famous Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown, and Knockdhu in Huntly (both about a 20 minute drive)
Both Huntly and Dufftown offer cafes and restaurants, shopping and grocery stores.
